This abnormal phenomenon gives teas from Uva region their distinctive natural minty/menthol flavour. Thereby making Uva teas to be generally highly sought after by tea connoisseurs all over the world.

The tea estate stands at an elevation between 610m to 1200m above sea level. It is named after Captain Gordon, the one time owner, who fought at the battle of El Teb. He would relate stories of his exploits so frequently that he was also known as “El- Teb Gordon” and hence, the name This high grown Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings is a medially strong black tea with a tawny hue.
